A North Cumbria man has been told he must sign the sex offenders’ register after he admitted making indecent images of children.
John George Ritson, 40, entered guilty pleas to two charges when he appeared for a brief hearing at Carlisle Crown Court.
Ritson admitted making 17 indecent photographs of children classed in category A – the most serious – and making three category C images.
His offences are said to have been committed between January 1 last year and February 6 of this year.
Ritson’s case was adjourned by Judge James Adkin for the preparation of a medical report, and a pre-sentenced report which will assess the risk the defendant may pose of committing further offences in the future.
Ritson, of Newton Arlosh, was granted bail, and is due to receive his punishment for the two crimes at the crown court in the new year.
