A retired Humberside Police inspector has been found guilty of sexually abusing an under-age school girl.
Bryan Calam, 71, has been on trial accused of grooming and taking advantage of the girl about 15 years ago.
Mr Calam, of Wood View, Swanland, who worked in CID and regional crime at Humberside Police, denied five offences of indecent assault and three of indecency with a child.
It is also claimed he had sex with the victim 20 to 30 times, but he has not been charged over those allegations for legal reasons, the court has heard.
Today, a jury has returned a guilty verdict for all eight counts.
Throughout the trial, the retired inspector called the claims “rubbish”, claiming the victim was “vindictive”.
But the jury took less than five hours to dismiss his claims and find him guilty.
