Pervert Lee Williams was snared by a paedophile hunter group – after telling a ’14-year-old’ girl he wished they could shower together.

The 46-year-old made the suggestion during an online chat with the ‘youngster’ – and also sent her naked pictures. But he was actually communicating with paedophile hunter group, The Force, and was door-stepped by a similar group at his Longton home last December.

It emerged the defendant had also been arrested last January after police found him with more than 1,100 indecent images of children. One of his 153 category A images – the most serious – involved a girl as young as three performing a sex act on a man.

Now Williams has been handed a three-year community order at Stoke-on-Trent Crown Court. The court heard Williams chatted online with 14-year-old ‘Sarah’ on September 28. Prosecutor Peter McCartney said: “The chat continued on WhatsApp. At the very outset Sarah made clear she was only 14.
“He continued to talk to her and asked how much pubic hair she had and what underwear she was wearing. He asked her to have a feel ‘down there’. He said he wished they could shower together. He sent naked photos and made arrangements to meet her. The meetings never took place.”
The court heard another group – Soul Survivors – confronted Williams at his Sutherland Road home on December 2. Mr McCartney added: “The meeting was recorded and uploaded on the internet. The police were called and he was arrested.”

Williams pleaded guilty to three offences of making indecent images of children, possessing extreme pornographic images, and attempting to cause or incite a child to engage in sexual activity.

As part of his sentence, Williams must complete a sexual offenders programme and 160 hours unpaid work. He was also made the subject of a five-year Sexual Harm Prevention Order and placed on the sex offenders’ register for the same period.

Judge David Fletcher said: “I accept when you went on the chat site that you thought you would be dealing with people over 18. The second the chat came back to you and the person you were talking to was 14 then that should have been the second you ended any communication with that person.”
