Man caught with horrendous toddler abuse video avoids prison sentence
A “grotesque” video showing a toddler being tortured and sexually abused was found by police after they searched a man’s laptop.
The baby girl was seen crying and in a “large amount of distress” during the horrific ordeal, a court heard.
Nigel Allison, 57, of Sycamore Close, Barnetby, admitted distributing two indecent images of children and downloading other images.
He has escaped a jail sentence.
Jeremy Evans, prosecuting, told Grimsby Crown Court that police received information from a specialist team about illegal images being accessed.
A warrant was executed on February 22 last year and
Allison was found to have been using chatrooms as a way of seeking the company of others.
He had sexually-charged conversations there about sexual activity with children.
There were 112 images of children, including 22 in the most serious category, 14 of them movies, on a laptop computer.
Police found nine indecent images of children on a mobile phone. The pictures involved children aged two to seven.
One of the movies, lasting five minutes and 43 seconds, was described as a “rape video”. Another movie showed a five-year-old girl in intimate poses.
Allison, formerly of Brigg, made admissions and had no previous convictions.
Recorder Richard Woolfall condemned the images as “grotesque” and the more serious ones as “particularly distressing” especially the rape video.
“The details of that particular video are grotesque,” he said.
“Without people such as yourself wanting to receive these images, there is a demand.
“Unhappily, children are sexually abused for people who have appetites for looking at these sort of images.
“When you entered these chatrooms, you were looking for company. You were emotionally vulnerable.
Allison was given a one-year suspended prison sentence, 25 days’ rehabilitation and was ordered to pay £300 costs.
He was given a 10-year sexual harm prevention order and must register as a sex offender for 10 years.
