Pervert convicted at recent Durham Crown Court trial


A pervert has received a suspended prison sentence for downloading indecent images of children from the internet.
Police recovered a computer hard drive containing 153 offending images when they visited Ross Morgan Alison’s home in January 2017.
Durham Crown Court, sitting at Newcastle, heard that although not charged with distributing the images, “an aggravating feature” was that they were placed in a folder to which other individuals could gain access.
Jonathan Walker, prosecuting, said the defendant was “very candid about that” in his second police interview.
But the 33-year-old defendant, of Tanmeads, Nettlesworth, near Chester-le-Street, denied three counts of making indecent images of children, for which he was convicted after a recent trial.
Judge James Adkin passed a ten-month sentence, suspended for two years, during which the defendant must “address his proclivities” on 30-probation rehabilitation activity days and observe a four-month 7pm to 7am home curfew.
Alison was also made subject of a Sexual Harm Prevention Order and registration as a sex offender, both for ten years, and must pay £500 towards court costs.
