A daughter has called for her mother to be struck off the nursing register after she admitted abusing children.
Margaret Burnett, 60, a district nurse from Aberdeen, pleaded guilty to subjecting two girls to a succession of beatings in the 1980s.
Appearing at Aberdeen sheriff court, Burnett admitted assaulting her daughter Helen between the ages of four and 16 by repeatedly hitting her with her hands, wooden spoons, coat hangers, hairbrushes and belts.
She also kicked her, hit her on the hand with a dinner fork and injured her by forcing meat down her throat.
Burnett also pleaded guilty to assaulting Rachael between the ages of four and ten by repeatedly punching her, slapping her on the head and beating her with a wooden spoon.
