At his hearing on 20th November, 2018, at Birmingham Crown Court, Philip Carter, 51 of Birmingham pleaded guilty to the following charges:
Two counts of attempting to incite a child to engage in sexual activity
The court was told that Carter had contacted the online profile of someone he believed was a schoolgirl,
however, the girl was actually a decoy for an online child protection team that set up profiles online in a bid to catch sexual predators who target children
The judge sentenced Carter to a two year community order
30 days rehabilitation activity requirement
Attend sex offenders programme
Complete 120 hours of unpaid work
To register as a sex offender for five years
