Carl Bray who also used the name ‘Sam Jones’ appeared at court where he admitted sexual communication with a child
The court was told that Bray had contacted what he believed was the online profile of a young girl. He sent a string of sexually charged messages with intent on engaging in sexual activity with the child.
Bray arranged to meet the child at Rotherham train station, however, he was met by paedophile hunters who rang the police who in turn arrested Bray.
Some months later, and whilst still under investigation for the last offence, Bray again contacted the profile of who he believed belonged to a child. He sexual messages with a view to meet.
However, the girl did not exist and was instead a member of paedophile hunting team ‘NCP’
They traced his address and Bray was again arrested. On this occasion, the court remanded him until his court appearance
After serving seven months on remand, Bray was sentenced to a 15 month suspended sentence
He was ordered to register as a sex offender for life and a rehabilitation course was also imposed
