Worker fitted spy cameras in toilets at high school and Richard Dunn Sports Centre
A man who fitted cameras in toilets at a leisure centre and high school in Bradford has pleaded guilty to a total of 16 sexual offences.
Darren Senior, 41, of Eastborough Crescent, Dewsbury, admitted the counts, including sexually assaulting an eight-year-old girl and producing indecent images of children.
Senior appeared at Leeds Crown Court yesterday with his head shaven and wearing a grey polo shirt.
He admitted one count of sexually assaulting an eight-year-old girl, two counts of being in possession of more than 100 prohibited images of children, and ten counts of making indecent photographs of pre-pubescent children.
He also admitted three counts of voyeurism, in which he had installed video recording equipment in toilets to record and observe people for his own sexual gratification.
The cameras were installed by Senior at Richard Dunn Sports Centre, in Odsal, where he was said to have last worked five years ago, at Tong School – now known as Tong Leadership Academy – and in a toilet cubicle in an unknown location.
Sophie Drake, prosecuting, said some of the images from the voyeurism charges had been printed off by Senior.
Judge Adrian Waterman QC said Senior’s actions appeared to him to be “compulsive behaviour”.
Ms Drake said: “We do not accept this was momentary.
“He was looking at images for years, he has not worked at Richard Dunn for five years or more.
“This was not offending over a short period of time.”
Judge Waterman told Senior his sentence will “almost certainly be custodial”.
The case has been adjourned until Friday, August 31, when Senior will appear before Bradford Crown Court to be sentenced.
Senior was yesterday ordered to sign the sex offenders’ register at Leeds Crown Court.
