Re-offending sex offender caught by paedophile hunters

A re-offending sex offender has been jailed after grooming what he believed was a child online
George Jarvis, aged 35, of Pinehurst Road appeared at Swindon Crown Court where he pleaded guilty to:

Sexual communication with a child
Attempting to engage in sexual communication with a child
Breaching a previous sexual offences prevention order

The court was told that Jarvis had contacted what he believed was an online profile of a young girl. Jarvis proceeded to send a string of vile sexual messages indicating his desire to have sexual activity with the young girl.
However, the girl did not exist and was instead a member of online child protection team ‘National Child Protectors’
The team confronted Jarvis and questioned him on his internet activity. The police were called and Jarvis was arrested
Jarvis admitted withholding a device capable of internet access from police. That device later showed he had downloaded indecent images of children
The pervert was already known to police as a sex offender with convictions for possession of indecent images of children and beastiality, and for stalking and exposing himself to a teenage girl
The judge handed Jarvis 48 months imprisonment and issued a sexual harm prevention order until further notice
January 2018
Man charged with possessing child abuse and bestiality images
A pervert accused of making more than 900 indecent images and videos of children and possessing pictures of bestiality, is to be tried at Swindon Crown Court.
George Jarvis, aged 35, of Pinehurst Road, was granted conditional bail when he appeared before a district judge at Swindon Magistrates Court on Wednesday.
He faces one charge of possessing eight extreme images of bestiality with dogs, possessing eight prohibited images of a child and three charges of making indecent images of children – 242 of them in the worst category.
Jarvis was committed to the crown court to appear on February 23 and District Judge Simon Cooper allowed bail on the condition he did not knowingly have contact with anyone under the age of 16.
March 2004
Court says sex attacker needs help, not jail
A man who carried out a sex attack has escaped jail.
George Jarvis, 23, of Pinehurst Road, Swindon, stalked a teenager as she walked home in the early hours of the morning after he exposed himself to her.
Jarvis, who has mental health problems, was given a three-year community rehabilitation order after he admitted indecent assault and exposure.
Magistrate Bob Sparling said: “Normally a case of this nature would result in imprisonment.
“In your case we believe it would be better to try and help you first.”
The attack took place on October 19 last year, when Jarvis cycled past the 19-year-old victim in Cricklade Road and shouted: “How much do you charge?” to which she replied she was not a prostitute. Richard Thomas, prosecuting, said: “He exposed himself sitting on his bicycle.”
The woman rushed home but Jarvis followed her and carried out a sexual assault.
He told police he had “tried to get off with the girl.”
Magistrates sentenced Jarvis to the rehabilitation order on condition he attends any courses the probation service feels appropriate.
They also imposed a six-month curfew between 7pm and 7am.
Jarvis was also ordered to pay £500 compensation to the victim and £130 legal costs.
