Paedophile drove 330 miles for sex with ’13-year-old girl’

A paedophile drove 330 miles in the hope of having sex with a 13-year-old girl.
Robin Honeysett-Mayes thought he was chatting to a girl called Alisha anonymously on the Kik Messenger app.
He was determined to drive from his home in Lewes to meet her for sex, even checking to make sure the girl’s mother would be out when he arrived.
But in fact he was talking to a paedophile hunter group
The 49-year-old tried to groom the girl, steering the conversation towards sex and his warped fantasies.
He was caught by police and admitted attempting to groom a child for sex and has now been jailed for a year.
Ross Talbott, prosecuting at Hove Crown Court, said Honeysett-Mayes had started the conversation in July last year, then travelled to Newcastle the next day.
He said: “Quickly the conversation turned sexual.”
He asked numerous intimate personal questions and also asked when her mother would be back.
Mr Talbott said: “He told the girl he didn’t want anybody coming in while he was f***ing her.”
Honeysett-Mayes wanted to know the girl’s previous sexual experience, and said he liked girls in short skirts and school uniform.
He ordered her what to wear and after she told him she had no previous sexual experience, he said: “Well tomorrow is going to be an experience for you then.”
Mr Talbott said Honeysett-Mayes had removed his wedding ring en route.
But when he arrived, he was met by the paedophile hunters, who handed over the evidence to the police.
Officers searched his address in the village of North Chailey near Lewes and found sick sexual images of a girl aged between eight and ten on his computer, and of a girl aged between 12 and 14.
They also found extreme pornographic images of women in sexual activity with animals.
District Judge Roger Chapple jailed him for 12 months for attempting to meet a girl under the age of 16 following grooming.
The judge added two concurrent sentences of eight weeks for possessing category B and category C images of children.
