A former steward at Britannia Royal Naval College in Dartmouth has been jailed for trying to meet a child for sex at Paignton train station.
Michael Watton, 56, thought he was meeting a 14-year-old girl but was instead confronted by a group of paedophile hunters.
The judge heard that over a two-week period the defendant exchanged sexually explicit messages with 10 fictional girls aged under 16, the youngest being just 10.
Watton was jailed for 16 months by the judge at Exeter Crown Court.
