A pervert sent “sexual” messages to a number of decoys the youngest being 11.
Joe Wake of Spennymoor was arrested in Spennymoor at his home address for multiple child sex offences.
In total (what we know of) he has been conversing with what he thought was 10 different children, from the ages of 11-years-old to 15-years-old from 3 different groups around the country.
We passed the information onto Durham Constabulary they disposed of him with a caution and made him sign the sex offenders register for 2 years.
The CPS guidance is you should only caution an offender if they have committed minor offences!!!
Child sex offences are an indictable offence(s) which should of had CPS guidance.
Also Durham Constabulary failed to acknowledge other organisations who do the same as us had multiple decoys on him.
They handed Wake a caution and made him sign the sex offenders register for two years.
