A paedophile who sent sexual messages to who he believed was a 12 year old girl has been jailed
Roger King, 69 of Redhill appeared at Crown Court where he pleaded guilty to a number of sexual offences relating to the grooming of a child online
The court was told that King contacted the profile of who he believed belonged to a 12 year old girl. King went onto send a number of sexual offences with the clear intent of engaging in sexual activity with the child.
However, the child did not exist and was instead an adult member of paedophile hunting teams – Southern Justice and For Our Kids – who pose online as children to catch sexual predators who groom youngsters
King was arrested on 14 April 2018
The judge handed King a 30 month custodial sentence
He was also placed on the sex offenders register indefinitely and a ten year sexual harm prevention order (SHPO) was also imposed
