Man sentenced for sexual offences – Oxford

Following a Thames Valley Police investigation, a man has been sentenced for sexual offences in Oxford.
Nelson Soares, aged 28, of Shelford Place in Oxford pleaded guilty to one count of sexual assault by penetration, one count of voyeurism, two counts of trespass with intent to commit a sexual offence, and five counts of exposure at Oxford Crown Court on 17 January 2020.
The counts of sexual assault by penetration, voyeurism and one count of trespass with intent to commit a sexual offences was in connection with an incident in Divinity Road between 12.30am and 4.30am on 9 February 2019.
Soares gained access to a property through an insecure window and sexually assaulted a 21-year-old woman.
The other count of trespass with intent to commit a sexual offences took place on 1 June 2019 in Headington.
All five of the exposure incidents took place on separate occasions in Headington last year. Two took place in January, two were in June and one was in August.
Soares was sentenced to ten years imprisonment at a hearing at Oxford Crown Court today (6/8).
He will also be on the Sex Offenders Register for life and has an extended license period of four years.
