A Stafford man who was caught by paedophile hunting team has been jailed
Martin John Jones appeared at Stafford Crown Court where he pleaded guilty to the following charges:
Attempting to cause/incite a a girl aged 13- 15 to engage in sexual activity
Attempting to cause a child aged 13 – 15 to watch or look at images of sexual activity
Attempting to engage in sexual communication with a child aged under 16
The court was told that Jones had contacted the online profile of what he believed was a young girl. Jones sent a number of sexual charged messages
However, the girl did not exist, and instead Jones was confronted by paedophile hunting team ‘Parental Online Protection- P.O.P’ on behalf of another team called ‘Nameless’
The pervert was questioned by the team before police were called. Jones was then arrested
Jones was sentenced to eight months imprisonment
He was also given a ten year sexual harm prevention order (SHPO) and ordered to pay £140 surcharge
