A man who believed he was grooming two young girls for sex has been sentenced after he was caught by paedophile hunting team ‘No more silent voices’
Allen Vincent Hardman of Bury appeared at Manchester Crown Court where he was handed a community order
The court heard that Hardman believed he was grooming two girls for sexual activity. The girls told him they were aged 12 and 14 years old.
In September 2018, Hardman arranged to meet the girls after sending sexually explicit chat to them.
He told one of the girls he planned to smoke weed, buy alcohol and then go and chill in the woods alone with her.
However, the girls did not exist and were instead members of a paedophile hunting team who pose online as children to catch sexual predators
The team positioned themselves at the place where Hardman had arranged to meet one of the girls. He arrived and the team confronted him and asked him questions about his online activity
The police were called and Hardman was arrested at the scene and spent the next six months on remand.
Today, Hardman was sentenced to a three year community order
A 30 day rehabilitation activity requirement was imposed
He was handed 120 hours of Unpaid work
A sexual Harm Prevention Order was given and he was told to register as a sex offender for five years
