Pervert sentenced after downloading indecent images of children
A pervert who downloaded sexual images of abused children has been ordered to carry out a rehabilitation programme or face a lengthy prison sentence.
Stephen Pollitt, 58, from Skipton Road, Steeton, was arrested after he was caught downloading the images onto his phone in December 2017 and January 2018 and pleaded guilty to three counts of making indecent images of children.
Bradford Crown Court heard four or five images found on Pollitt’s phone were the most serious Category A photographs.
The Recorder of Bradford, Judge Jonathan Durham Hall QC, sentenced Pollitt to an accredited group work programme for 90 days and made him subject to a Sexual Harm Prevention Order because he felt there was little benefit in sending him immediately to jail.
He said: “Behind every one of these images is the abuse of children, so men like you can get some pathetic satisfaction.
“It’s an abhorrent perversion.”
