A date-rapist who ran away when paedophile hunters after caught him trying to meet a 13-year-old girl for sex has been jailed.
Alfred Scott, also known as Alfred Liddle, travelled to Central Station in Newcastle to meet who he thought was a schoolgirl called Jess after chatting to her on social media website Tagged.
Scott was jailed for four-and-a-half years in 2012 for raping a woman on their first date after meeting her over the internet, Newcastle Crown Court heard.
He locked her in a room before the attack, in which he bit a slapped her.
Judge Deborah Sherwin sentenced him to three years behind bars, with an extended three-year licence period.
He must also abide the terms of a sexual harm prevention order for the rest of his life and sign the sex offenders register.
