Pervert had indecent images of children

Julian Bond used an encrypted app on his iPhone to store and hide a range of indecent photographs of children, as well as placing them in folders on his computer entitled ‘Work 2’.
Police were given a report that 46-year-old had been viewing the explicit material after an image was posted to a chat-room online.
His home was raided and computer equipment seized.
Prosecutor Daniel Sawyer told Southampton Crown Court that after his external hard drive, laptop and two iPhones were examined two category A, four category B and more than 100 category C photographs were found.
He said: “When Bond was interviewed by the police he said he had seen some images of children on a chat room but this only happened when he clicked on a link so it was only by accident.”
Mr Sawyer added: “In another interview he said when he was on the chat-rooms he would talk about sex and when he would click on images sent they would become downloaded.”
Mitigating, Jamie Gammon told the court Bond had been “very contrite” since being caught and “knows his behaviour was not acceptable.”
He said that Bond’s wife had stuck by him and that his actions had been a way of coping with tragedies within the family.
Mr Gammon added Bond had sought therapy and was paying for his own counselling to understand his issues.
Bond, of Alfred Close, Totton, pleaded guilty to the three charges of possessing indecent images.
He was given a two-year community order and made the subject of a sexual harm prevention order.
