A pervert who believed he was grooming a 14 year old child online has been jailed after he was caught by paedophile hunting team SJ-6
Alex workman of Leeds appeared at court where he admitted sexual communication with a child
The court was told that Workman was previously jailed after he made a 14 year old girl pregnant.
Workman went on to contact the profile of who he believed was another 14 year old girl. He sent a string of sexually charged messages. He also sent sexually explicit photos and videos to that girl with the intent of engaging in sexual activity with the child.
However, unknown to Workman, he was actually speaking to an adult member of paedophile hunting team ‘SJ-6’ who pose online in an attempt to catch sexual predators who target children
Workman arranged to meet the child in December 2017. But the team met him and confronted him over his online activity. The police were called and he was arrestedand remanded due to his previous offending
The judge handed Workman a 36 month prison sentence
Workman was told that he must register as a sex offender for life and he will be subject to a sexual harm prevention order for life
