Pervert caught by paedophile hunters ‘Geordie Chasers’

A pervert who believed he was grooming a schoolgirl online was shocked when he realised he had infact been talking to them
Ossie Oram 29 from Byker arranged to meet what he thought was a 13 year old child.
The court heard he sent pictures of his exposed genitals and asked her to visit him so they could have sex.
Oram also sent a video of himself carrying out a sex act and claimed he had already slept with a 14-year-old.
Newcastle Crown Court heard he then arranged to meet up with her but when he turned up was confronted by a group called Geordie Chasers.
The court heard it was in January this year that Oram made contact with the profile on the lovoo website.
Judge Robert Adams told him: “You were told immediately you were communicating, or so you thought, with a 13-year-old.
“Within two hours you started speaking in a sexual manner.”
Oram asked whether the girl had seen male genitals before, sent pictures of his exposed genitals and asked her to come round “so we can ****”.
Judge Adams said that after Oram had sent a video and an image of himself: “You were reminded you were dealing with someone who was 13 years old.
“You told her you’d had sex with a 14-year-old before. Whether that’s true or not is not clear.
“You continued to send images of your exposed genitals, you arranged to meet and your intention was clear.”
Oram appeared in court where he faced charges of:

Offender 18 or over attempt to cause a child under 13 to watch/ look at an image of sexual activity.
Attempt to cause/ incite a girl 13 to 15 to engage in sexual activity – offender 18 or over- penetration
Adult attempt to meet to meet a girl under 16 years of age following sexual grooming.

Oram later appeared in court where he pleaded not guilty to the first two charges but guilty on the 3rd.
The CPS released the following statement to the team: “Counts 1 and 2 (will) lie on (his) file because the plea that was given in this offence (count 3) covers all of the wrong doing”
On the 13th April 2018 Oram was sentenced to:

15 month custodial sentence suspended for two years
10 year sexual harm pevention order
10 year sex offenders register
54 day sexual rehabilitation order.
114 rehabilitation order with the probation service.

The court was told that Oram had a ‘High risk of sexually re-offending but a low risk of general re-offending.’
