Thornton pleaded guilty at Teesside Crown Court on Friday to attempting to meet a girl under 16-years-old following grooming and two counts of breaching a sexual harm prevention order.
He was sentenced to another two year sentence and has been ordered to sign the sex offenders register for 10 years.
