A 63-year-old Derby man has been snared by self-styled paedophile hunters posing as two underage girls.
Married Andrew Brough, of Chaddesden, believe he was exchanging sexual messages with girls aged 13 and 14 called Emily and Maisie.
But the youngsters were, in fact, an online group who turned up at his address to confront him before contacting the police.
Brough, of Rupert Road, pleaded guilty to charges of attempting to cause a child to engage in sexual activity and attempting to engage in sexual communication with a child.
Appearing remotely from his home, Brough also admitted charges of distributing indecent images of children, making indecent images of children and possessing extreme pornographic images – six pictures involving adults engaged in sexual acts with animals.
In total, police found 718 vile child abuse images of the most serious category A which typically show young children engaged in sexual acts with adults.
Brough, who has no previous convictions of any kind, had 537 category B images and 905 category C.
Recorder Julie Warburton handed him conditional bail and he is due to be sentenced on July 14 when he will need to appear in person at Derby Crown Court.
She said: “I will adjourn for a pre-sentence report but I am not doing that on the basis making any promises (about whether or not to send him immediately to prison).
“These are serious matters, there were a significant numbers of images being distributed.”
