A pervert has been jailed after he struck-up sexual conversations online with two police decoys who had claimed to be boys.
Sheffield Crown Court heard on May 12 how Alun Haynes, aged 41, of Athelstone Road, Doncaster, was trapped by police after he had been communicating with officers pretending to be boys.
Judge Sarah Wright told Haynes: “This was very serious offending involving ostensibly two young boys and the second offending was while you were under investigation.
“You have encouraged what you thought were young boys to engage in sexual activity and therefore the offences are so serious only immediate custody is appropriate.”
Nicola Quinney, prosecuting, said the defendant started communicating with a decoy named Jack in January, 2019, on dating websites and the conversation was sexual and he sent pictures of his private parts and discussed oral sex.
Ms Quinney added Haynes told the decoy, who claimed to be 14-years-old, he would teach him how to perform sexual acts and in February he encouraged the decoy to engage in sexual activity.
Haynes was arrested after police raided his home in March, 2019.
Miss Quinney said Haynes also set up online communication with another decoy between January and February, 2020, who called himself Jacob and claimed to be 12-years-old
Haynes sent a picture of his private parts, according to Miss Quinney, and discussed sex and oral sex and suggested the decoy send a picture of himself.
The defendant, who has previous convictions, pleaded guilty to attempting to engage a boy in sexual activity, attempting to engage a boy in sexual communication and attempting to engage a boy to watch a sexual act, in relation to the first decoy.
Haynes pleaded guilty to attempting to engage a boy in sexual communication and to attempting to engage a boy to watch a sexual act, relating to the second decoy.
Judge Wright sentenced Haynes to three-years of custody and placed him on a Sexual Harm Prevention Order for ten-years.
