Pervert who collected 1,500 indecent children pictures avoids jail



A pervert started a collection of more than 1,500 indecent images of children after becoming desensitised to pornography.
Clive Ambrose avoided an immediate jail sentence for collecting the sordid material over four years.
Police raided his house in Grantham Road, Great Horkesley, last summer and seized a number of his devices.
They discovered ten category A images of children – deemed the most serious – 15 category B and 1,529 category C.
The 47-year-old also had one prohibited image of a child and one which reflected bestiality.
He admitted five counts of possession of the illegal images at Colchester Magistrates’ Court last year.
Ambrose was working as a design engineer but was suspended amid the allegations and is now likely to be sacked.
Judge Christopher Morgan handed him a four month prison term suspended for 18 months.
In that time he must complete 60 rehabilitation days and 150 hours of unpaid work.
He was also made subject to a sexual harm prevention order lasting seven years meaning he can have no unsupervised contact with children unless their parents know about his conviction.
