A pervert who believed he was grooming two schoolgirls online has avoided prison after he was caught by a paedophile hunting team
Martin Williams, 46 of Worcester appeared in court where he admitted sexual offences of:
Two counts of attempting to cause or incite a child to engage in sexual activity
Making indecent photographs of a child
Distributing and showing indecent photographs of a child
The court heard that Job Software Designer Williams had contacted the profiles of who he believed were 13 and 14 year old girls.
He sent a string of sexually charged messages. He also sent sexually explicit photos of his naked body to the girls with the intent of engaging in sexual activity with them
He also requested the girls to send him naked images of themselves. He aksed them to photograph themselves in underwear and swim clothing. They refused
Williams also attempted to entice the girls to his house with a hot tub
However, unknown to Williams, he was actually speaking to an adult member of paedophile hunting team ‘Totnes Justice’ who pose online in an attempt to catch sexual predators who target children
The judge sentenced Williams to 12 months imprisonment which was suspended for two years
He was ordered to undergo Rehabilitation Activity Requirement
He was told to register as a sex offender for a period of ten years and would be subject to a sexual harm prevention order for five years
His internet capable devices were destroyed by order of the judge
