Perverted security guard sentenced for grooming child
A pervert who was exposed during a ‘paedophile sting’ has been jailed after he admitted engaging in sexual communication with a child.
Security guard Keith Strutt, 57 years old of Derek Street, Howley, pleaded guilty to the charge at Warrington Magistrates’ Court last month and was sentenced at Liverpool Crown Court earlier this month
The court was told that Strutt had contacted what he believed was the online profile of a 13 year old girl. Strutt sent a string of sexual messages indicating his wish to engage in sexual activity with the schoolgirl.
Strutt arranged for the 13 year old girl to meet him at his workplace, where in his words, he said he would have sex with the girl
However, the schoolgirl did not exist and was instead a member of paedophile hunting team ‘Hunting 4 Justice’ who pose online as children to catch sexual predators
Police officers were called to reports of an incident on the Riverside Retail Park and 57-year-old Strutt was arrested on suspicion of sexual communication with a child
Members of the ‘Hunting 4 Justice’ team live streamed the interaction on the group’s Facebook account.
All evidence, which was collected by the group, was handed over to detectives at Cheshire Police.
The judge sentenced Strutt to 10 months imprisonment with an eight week licence period upon release
He was handed a sexual harm prevention order for 10 years and was told that he must also register as a sex offender for 10 years
