A man who sent sexually explicit chat to who he believed was a young child has avoided a prison sentence
Michael Martin of Rochdale, appeared in court where he admitted:
One count of inciting a child under 13 to watch sexual videos
Two counts of inciting a child under the age of 13 to engage in sexual conversation
Two counts of meeting a child aged under 13 following sexual grooming
The court was told that Martin had contacted what he believed was an online profile of a young child. He sent sexually explicit chat, images of his penis and videos containing adult pornography
However, the child was really a decoy for paedophile hunting team ‘For Our Kids UK’.
The team handed their evidence into police who in turn arrested Mellon. He was later charged.
The judge sentenced Martin to:
Five years on the sex offenders register
A five year sexual harm prevention order
40 day rehabilitation activity course
