Sex pest exposed himself in tanning salon
A tanning shop flasher who asked a woman to ‘test’ sunbeds for him was ordered to go on a sex offender programme.
Serial sex pest and flasher Peter Bush, 49, admitted indecently exposing himself to a woman customer.
The woman wrongly thought Bush was a member of staff at Consol Suncentre in Albany Road, Roath, Cardiff, the court heard.
Prosecutor Tony Trigg told Cardiff Crown Court the unsuspecting customer had paid #3.50 for a 10-minute session in May.
She was about to leave the unmanned shop when she was called back by Bush, he said.
Mr Trigg said Bush asked her if her sunbed had worked properly and then asked her to test sunbeds in two different cubicles.
When she was lying on the second sunbed, she became aware of ‘rustling’ – and she saw Bush kneeling at the end of the bed, having exposed himself.
She told him it was ‘disgusting’ and left the shop.
Bush, a decorator and carpenter from Llanedeyrn, Cardiff, was caught on CCTV.
He told police he was ‘adjusting himself’ after he became sexually aroused in the cubicle.
The court heard he has nine previous convictions for similar offences, dating back to the 1970s.
Judge Roderick Evans told Bush, ‘This is the tenth time you have been before the court for this kind of offending. You have a deep-seated problem.’
He said jailing Bush would probably mean that he came out with even ‘more difficulties’.
He sentenced him to a three-year community sentence. Bush must attend a sex offender treatment programme and register as a sex offender for five years.
