‘Depraved sexual predator’ began abusing girl in Rochdale when she was just four years old

A ‘depraved sexual predator’ who began abusing a girl in Rochdale when she was just four years old looks likely to spend the rest of his life behind bars.
Graham Fisher, 79, subjected his victim to a number of sickening attacks over a six year period in the 1960s.
The pensioner also abused two teenage girls in Blackpool in the 1970s.
Police said the attacks left the victims ‘devastated’.
Fisher was brought to justice – and jailed for 17 years – after his brave victims finally plucked up the courage to report the abuse to the police, decades after it took place.
He was arrested in May 2017 and denied the offences, claiming the victims were colluding against him.
But after a week long trial at Preston Crown Court Fisher, of Saville Road, Blackpool, was found guilty of 11 counts of indecent assault, one count of rape and one count of attempted rape.
He was also put on the sex offenders register for life.
Det Con Jenny Cobham, of Lancashire Police, praised the victims for their bravery and ‘facing their abuser’ in court.
She said: “Graham Fisher is a sexual predator who targeted his victims, exploiting their vulnerabilities for his own depraved ends.
“His sex assaults against the three complainants left them devastated.
“His denial of the offences, as well as the subsequent accusation they were working together against him, prolonged their wait for justice.
“I must thank them for their bravery in reporting the offences and facing their abuser through the court process.
