A 26 year old paedophile that groomed a 12 year old girl for his own sexual gratification has been jailed
Michael Carl Scott, 26 of Blyth appeared at Newcastle Crown Court where he pleaded guilty to and was sentenced for:

Causing or inciting a child under 13 into sexual activity

The court was told that care assistant Scott, had first contacted the girl via the Yubo (formerly Yellow) social media app. Scott then progressed the chat to Snap Chat and then to text messages.
Scott pretended to be a 13 year old boy called Kyle. He convinced the victim by using an image of an innocent child as his profile picture.
Scott manipulated the child into sending indecent images of herself to him. He also threatened her into keeping their conversations secret
The father of the child became suspicious of his daughters secretive behaviour when on her phone, so he decided to check the content.
The father was shocked when he realised that Scott had been sexually grooming his daughter
As the father read through the messages, he realised that pervert Scott was just 24 hours away from an arranged meet in Blaydon
The father contacted the police immediately and Scott was arrested at his home that night
The judge sentenced Scott to a 30 month prison sentence.
He must also sign the sex offenders register for a period of 10 years
