An already convicted paedophile that groomed who he believed was a schoolgirl online has been remanded in prison after he was caught in a paedophile hunting sting
Paul Fletcher, 61 of Derbyshire appeared at court where he was sentenced for online child grooming offences and breaching a previous sexual harm prevention order. The court was told that Fletcher had recently been released from a 10 month prison sentence after grooming what he believed was a number of young girls aged 12 – 14 years old. However, the girls did not exist and were infact members of a paedophile hunting team who confronted him in December 2017.
Fletcher was jailed for those offences and released in July 2018 with a strict court order forbidding him to contact any child aged under 16
However, within weeks, Fletcher returned to social media and contacted a young girl online. He sent sexually explicit messages with the intent of meeting the child for sexual activity.
But, as before, Fletcher found himself confronted by a paedophile hunting team who revealed that he had been caught in a sting designed to catch sexual predators who target children online
Fletcher was remanded to prison awaiting sentence
