A married Derby pervert sent disgusting photographs of his private parts to an 11-year-old girl he befriended over Facebook.
Derby Crown Court heard how Jamie Bourne also sent ‘Madison’ images of a woman performing a sex act and said he could teach her how to do it on him.
The 30-year-old asked if she had any other friends her age he could talk to online and called her “a time waster” when he tried to lure her into switching on her webcam but she told him it was broken.
But when Bourne, of Normanton, turned up to meet the child, as they had arranged over the internet, he was instead confronted by self-styled paedophile hunters who had set the whole sting up.
Handing him a 16-month jail term, suspended for two years, Judge Julie Warburton said: “There was no victim but you were not to know that.
“You believed you were sending images to an 11-year-old girl.
“It was absolutely clear from her profile how old she was and it was extremely graphic material that you sent.
“You asked to contact her through video call and when she told you her camera was broken you sent her a message calling her ‘a time-waster’.
“You then asked her to introduce you to a friend of a similar age.
“It’s an appalling catalogue of affairs.
“You ought to be thoroughly ashamed of yourself and I hope that you are.”
Sarah Allen, prosecuting, said the offending took place over a few days between October 30 and November 3, 2018.
She said the vigilante group set up Madison’s Facebook profile in which she said she was aged 11.
Miss Allen said Bourne, of Yates Street, started messaging her and when she replied he very quickly turned their conversation into a sexualised one.
She said: “He sent her a link to a pornographic website and an image of his private parts taken inside his pyjamas.
“He then sent another image where he was touching himself.”
Miss Allen said the conversation between Bourne and Madison continued for the next few days and including him asking her if she was interested in a sex act.
He then sent her images of adults engaged in the sex act and asked her if she had friends who were the same age as her.
Miss Allen said: “The conversation then turned to them meeting up in Derby when she was coming to Derby to see her grandmother.”
He said they could go for a burger and he sent her an image of a woman performing a sex act and told her he could teach her, she said.
Miss Allen said Bourne went to where he thought he was meeting Madison at around 10am on November 3 where he was confronted by the self-styled paedophile hunters who called the police and he was arrested.
He later pleaded guilty to charges of attempting to engage in sexual communication with a child and attempting to incite a child to watch a sex act.
He has no previous convictions.
As part of the suspended sentence Bourne must attend 30 rehabilitation sessions with the probation service.
He was also handed a five-year sexual harm prevention order and was placed on the sex offenders’ register for five years.
